Vin Diesel: Actor charged by former assistant with sexual assault

The actor's lawyer, representing Mark Sinclair, stated that his client completely denies the claim.

According to the lawsuit filed by Asta Jonasson, she accuses the actor of pinning her against a wall while engaging in a sexual act.

Furthermore, she is suing for wrongful termination, alleging that she was fired by his company shortly after the alleged assault.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Thursday by Ms. Jonasson, claims that the incident of sexual battery occurred at Atlanta's St Regis hotel during the filming of Fast Five.

In the lawsuit, she claims that Mr. Sinclair, 56, forcefully overpowered her in his hotel suite and disregarded her clear refusal as he touched her inappropriately.

According to the lawsuit, after she screamed and tried to escape to the nearby bathroom, the actor cornered her against the wall and engaged in a sexual act.

Shortly after the incident, the lawsuit states that the actor's sister, Samantha Vincent, who manages his production company One Race Films, contacted her and terminated her employment.

She is also taking legal action against the actor's sister and his production company.

There has been no immediate response from Ms. Vincent regarding the matter.

"It was clear to her that she was being fired because she was no longer useful - The complaint stated that Vin Diesel had exploited her to satisfy his erotic cravings.

It continues: "Ms. Jonasson wondered if a successful career would require her to trade her body for advancement, felt helpless, and had her self-esteem destroyed."

The former assistant further alleges that, a few days prior to the incident with Mr. Sinclair, she was approached by another executive from the company in the same hotel.

Her lawsuit also alleges emotional distress, unlawful retaliation, gender discrimination, and wrongful termination in addition to sexual battery.

In a written statement to CNN on Thursday, Mr. Sinclair's attorney, Bryan Freedman, stated: "Vin Diesel categorically denies this claim in its entirety.

"This is the first he has ever heard about this more than 13 year old claim made by a purportedly 9 day member of staff."

In an official statement to BBC News, Ms. Jonasson's attorney stated that her client "seeks to hold Vin Diesel and those who allowed as well covered up his sexual assault accountable for their egregious actions".

Attorney Claire-Lise Kutlay stated, "We hope her brave decision to come forward helps create lasting change and empowers other survivors."

Apart from the Fast & Furious series, Vin Diesel is well-known for his roles in the movies Riddick, XXX, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Mr. Sinclair is among the highest-earning actors in Hollywood and serves as a producer for the Fast & Furious franchise.
