Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the reconstruction of 30,000 houses in 10 cities destroyed by the earthquake in Turkey will begin very soon. Khabar Daily Sabahar.

He spoke to reporters after a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) headquarters in Ankara, the country's capital.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said reconstruction work will begin immediately after search, rescue and debris clearance.

The search and rescue operation will continue until the last survivor is pulled out of the collapsed building, he said.

He hailed Turkey's Housing Development Administration (TOKI) for building earthquake-resistant houses.

The state-run agency will build the houses as part of a one-year plan, Erdogan said.

The Turkish president also said that 3 thousand 107 aftershocks occurred after two major earthquakes hit southeast Turkey on February 6. The number of dead is 35 thousand 418 people. More than 1 lakh 5 thousand 500 people have been rescued from the rubble after the earthquake. 13 thousand 208 injured people are still receiving treatment in hospital. 28,000 Turkish soldiers and 250,000 civilians are conducting search and rescue efforts in the quake zone.
